Welcome to the website of Imai Music Studio! We are a bilingual Piano and music school centered in the skip shopping street, which is conveniently located from JR Musashi-
sakai Station in Musashino-shi in Tokyo. You can take piano, music theory, and Kinder Music group class in Japanese or English. It is a cozy and friendly music school where students of all ages, levels and nationalities attend from all over in Tokyo.

Courses for adult beginner are available. You can pace at your own pace and we assist you on every step! "Will I be able to practice with my busy schedule?" "Will attending lessons be a burden?" Do not worry. You can arrange your own lesson schedule with your instructor.

About Imai Music School/Piano School
IMAI Music Studio is a bilingual music school specializing in piano and Clarinet. In addition to lessons in Japanese, we also have many students whose native language is not Japanese. Our lessons take a comprehensive approach to developing musical abilities. We value communication and cultivate thinking skills, imagination, memory, and sensitivity. An international perspective that broadens one's horizons to the world is also a distinctive feature. Classical music did not originate in Japan. One of the goals of our lessons is to expose students to different cultures through music. While expanding imagination, we also focus on the fundamentals of piano. Piano lessons are conducted as a collaborative effort between the piano instructor and the student. We sincerely hope that each student will feel a sense of their own growth. We hope to connect with everyone with the feeling that we are growing together through music.

Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Here are some frequently asked questions at a trial lesson!
Q. Do I need to buy a piano?
A. Students taking group classes do not need to purchase a piano. Students who wish to take piano lessons will need to purchase a piano.
Q. Is an electronic piano acceptable?
A. Pianos and digital pianos are different instruments. There is no guarantee that a student will improve by purchasing a piano, but piano playing techniques that cannot be learned on a digital piano will make it difficult to progress. If you want your child to feel closer to classical music in the future, purchasing a piano is essential.
Q. Is there a lot of homework?
A. Since it's a private lesson, there's nothing to worry about. Homework will cover the material practiced in the lesson, so students will review what they already understand at home.
Q. I don't speak English. Can I take lessons in English?
A. Students who can communicate in English are encouraged to take lessons in English. If you have difficulty communicating in English, lessons will be conducted in Japanese.
Q. Can I reschedule a lesson if I am absent?
A. We frequently receive inquiries about make-up lessons. We understand that everyone has their own reasons for needing to miss a lesson, but we cannot accommodate the schedules of all students. Currently, make-up lessons are limited to once every six months for all students.
Q. Will there be a recital?
A. We have two major events a year. We hold a recital in May or July (the timing may vary depending on the hall's availability), and a Christmas party in December.
Q. At what age is it best to start playing the piano?
A. Many students start between the age of 5 to 7. It varies from student to student. We believe that 6 years old is a good age to start.
